NORMAN
LOVE CHOCOLATES TICKLE TASTE BUDS OF COMIC STRIP
CHARACTERS |
Normans
chocolates have made headlines in magazines and newspapers throughout the
country, now readers of the comic pages have been introduced to the seductive
nature of Norman Love Confections. Twice during the week after Christmas,
Normans chocolates were featured in The Humble Stumble, a
cartoon strip about a single father raising his daughter. Its written by
Fort Myers-based Roy Schneider.
The Dec. 26
installment involves Joe Humble, his longtime friend, Lincoln, and his
grandmother, Nana. For Christmas, Nana gives Lincoln her ancient Volkswagen
bug. In return, Linc gives her The Big Box of Norman Love
chocolates. Linc is worried that Nana out-gifted him this year. Joe
takes one look at Nana as she devours the handmade all-natural chocolates with
a blissful look on her face and an ooohhh coming from her lips, and
says I think she just might be OK with it."
The second strip,
which ran Dec. 29 in papers across the country Nana and Lincoln have an
exchange that occurs wherever Normans chocolates go. A quandary
recipients of the delicate works of art must ponder whether or not to
eat such amazing works of art and, ultimately, overcome as Linc does by
biting into a piece of the chocolate.
The cartoonist and
chocolatier met last year at the Southwest Florida Wine Fest, a fundraising
event for sick children. Roy says the pair hit it off and that he was impressed
with Normans creativity. Just looking at his chocolates
theyre works of art, and quite delicious, Roy says.
