FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 12, 2011) – Norman Love Confections has opened in Naples at Park Shore Centre. The new Chocolate Salon carries all the award-winning confections that have made the Fort Myers confectionary store famous, and will soon introduce NLC Italian gelato to the Naples community.
Situated with the popular USS Nemo and Swan River restaurants at 3747 Tamiami Trail North, the new Euro chic retail space is a combination confection shop and coffee bar. The nearly 1,263-square-foot shop includes a complete selection of NLC ultra-premium, handcrafted artisanal chocolates, pastries, desserts such as pies, cakes and cookies, breakfast bakeries including croissants, muffins and Danish, specialty coffees, cappuccinos and smoothies. Handmade, artisanal Italian gelato will be available within the next couple of weeks
The Naples Chocolate Salon is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
“Opening a salon in Naples has long been a dream of mine,” said Norman Love. “Along with my wife, Mary, and our Pastry Chef Nathaniel Reid, we are looking forward to offering our ultra-premium chocolates and introducing new, innovate desserts to the discriminating palates in Naples.”

A highly respected consumer rating publication recognized the company eight times since 2006 including five times as the best ultra-premium chocolates in the nation. Love and his chocolates have been features by USA Today, The Today Show, Robb Report, InStyle and Entrepreneur magazines. In 2009, Norman received the honor of one of the “Top 10 Chocolatiers in North America” by Dessert Magazine. He is also co-founder of the National Pastry Team Championship and is a regular guest judge on the Food Network Challenge series.
Reid, a graduate of the highly acclaimed Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, with a Grand Diploma in Culinary and Pastry Arts, was also selected as U.S. Pastry Competition Pastry Chef of the Year 2010 in New York City. The U.S. Pastry Competition is America’s most prestigious pastry championship.
In 2009, Reid placed first with the Best Chocolate/Confection at the Pastryscoop.com Golden Scoop Awards and third place at the International Pastry Grand Prix in Tokyo. Reid oversees NLC’s pastry and bakery shop, including the production of specialty cakes, desserts and bakery items.
