NLC to donate $10,000 prize money to Partners for Breast Cancer Care if selected as winner


FORT MYERS, Fla. (Sept. 10, 2012) – Norman Love Confections announced today that it has been named one of 100 finalists for the Audience Choice Award in Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia’s inaugural American Made, a multimedia celebration of American artists and entrepreneurs. The American Made program will celebrate 10 rising stars – plus an 11th Audience Choice winner – from a range of lifestyle arenas including food, fashion, design, community, gardening, crafts and technology. The winners will be honored guests at a celebratory event and part of a unique pop-up experience at Grand Central Terminal in New York City.

The Audience Choice winner – the finalist receiving the most votes – will be announced online Oct. 8. The winning entrepreneur will receive $10,000, in addition to being featured in the December issue of Martha Stewart Living.

“It was announced that the $10,000 prize is designed to further the winner’s business,” said Norman Love. “Since the winner will be announced in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, if NLC wins, we will donate the prize money to Partners for Breast Cancer Care.”

The one-of-a-kind organization, Partners for Breast Cancer Care funds breast care procedures such as screening, diagnostic testing, surgery and treatment for underserved Lee County women and men at no cost to them. For more information, visit www.pfbcc.org.

Norman Love Confections is also supporting Partners for Breast Cancer Care during October with Pink Pumps for Breast Cancer Care. Three dollars for every pink high heel chocolate novelty item purchased will be donated to the organization.

The search for the Audience Choice winner began in August with an online nomination process on www.marthastewart.com in which more than 2,000 entries were submitted nationwide. Finalists were selected by the editors of Martha Stewart Living and through Sept. 24 are up for public vote at www.marthastewart.com/americanmade.

American Made, a multimedia celebration of American artists, artisans and entrepreneurs, is presented in partnership with MSLO’s sponsors Avery Dennison’s Office and Consumer Products division and The UPS Store. Additional sponsors include Toyota.
