FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 15, 2010) – Chef Norman Love, of Norman Love Confections, has announced the appointment of Amy Sedlacek as corporate sales manager. Sedlacek is a highly respected journalist who brings to the company a unique combination of community involvement and knowledge of the pastry industry.
“Amy’s diverse background and incredible work ethic make her the ideal candidate to help Norman Love Confections into its exciting next chapter,” said Love. “In 2011, we’ll celebrate our 10th anniversary in Southwest Florida, and in the coming months we’ll open a confection shop and coffee bar in Naples.”
In her new position, Sedlacek will be responsible for establishing sales strategies and expanding NLC’s community outreach throughout Southwest Florida.
Sedlacek joins Norman Love Confections from FOX 4 where for nearly five years she was on-air anchor for FOX 4 Rising, the morning program she has hosted since its inception. Her coverage of Hurricane Ophelia won the award for best spot news in South Carolina in 2005. Sedlacek’s journalism career included an internship with Dateline weekly television newsmagazine broadcast by NBC, where she was recognized for an Edward R. Murrow Award.
“While I have a love for news, my real passion is baking,” said Sedlacek. “I’m looking forward to being even more involved in the community and working with Norman and his wife Mary, in expanding their presence in the area. What can I say, life is sweet!”
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hastings College in Hastings, Neb. with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast and Print Journalism and a minor in English. She is active with Make-A-Wish Foundation, Animal Refuge Center and PACE Center for Girls.
Sedlacek will join Norman Love Confections on Jan. 3, 2011.
Love added, “We are excited to have Amy join our team and look forward to her contributions to our company and the community.”
