Loves donate gaming gift to The Children’s Hospital

FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 30, 2012) – It’s no secret that Norman and Mary Love have a special place in their hearts for patients at the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Center at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. Recently the Loves, founders of Norman Love Confections, donated a multi-game table arcade machine to help entertain the children (and parents too) while undergoing treatment in the facility.

Dan Spolar, with Pinball Asylum, helped Norman Love deliver the professional machine as a special gift that is now part of the departments growing entertainment center.

Local chef named a top pastry chef in America

FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 16, 2012) – Dessert Professional magazine, the nation’s leading publication of the pastry, ice cream and chocolate industries, has named Nathaniel Reid, of Norman Love Confections, as one of the Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America.

Reid will accept this recognition on June 4 at The Institute of Culinary Education in New York.

“With more and more remarkable talent filling the ranks of dessert professionals, being recognized as one of the best has gained a new level of prestige,” notes editor Matthew Stevens.

Reid, who joined Norman Love Confections in 2010, oversees the pastry and bakery shop, including production of specialty cakes, desserts and bakery items.

Artisan Gelato announces new seasonal hours

FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 1, 2012) – As the days become longer and warmer, Artisan Gelato by Norman Love will be staying open later. The new hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The new Euro-chic gelateria, which opened earlier this year, serves rich, handmade authentic Italian artisan gelato plus an array of handmade French crepes, Belgian waffles, artisan pastries and sweet treats. All products are made fresh daily, using the world’s finest ingredients by Artisan Gelato’s award-winning chefs.

Sharing a Lil’ Love with Norman Love Confections to benefit local charities

FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 13, 2012) – Known for their philanthropic generosity, Mary and Norman Love are launching a year-round program to raise money for local charities. Sharing a Lil’ Love with Norman Love Confections is a new fundraising opportunity that will raise money for a different nonprofit organization every four months.

The brain child of their son, Ryan, Sharing a Lil’ Love with Norman Love Confections will donate $1 from specially marked boxes at both the Fort Myers and Naples chocolate salons and online at www.normanloveconfections.com.

Flavors currently featured in the Sharing a Lil’ Love boxes are Cookies and Cream, Bubble Gum, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Vanilla Cupcake and Cotton Candy.

Money raised from April through July will benefit United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades.
